Summer Solstice

Today is the 1st day of summer in the northern hemisphere for 2021. Also called midsummer or summer solstice. It is when the sun is the highest in the sky and the day with the longest period of daylight. Since it is also a beautiful day, if you are not working then get out there and make the most of it.

“This is the solstice, the still point of the sun, its cusp and midnight, the year’s threshold and unlocking, where the past lets go of and becomes the future; the place of caught breath.” Margaret Atwood

Today I am thankful for beautiful sunrises, getting up early even though I stayed up way too late to watch hockey, and the promise and adventures that summer always brings.
