Truth & Reconciliation

On September 30th, the Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Canadians learn, recognize and reflect upon the history and ongoing legacy of residential schools, the trauma experienced by many, and the hope for a healthy future. The day emphasizes the ongoing need for reconciliation, and building and strengthening relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.

Sincerely,

Patrick

Truth and Reconciliation

Today September 30,2021 marks the first official National day for Truth and Reconciliation here in Canada. It was created as a reminder to us to remember the children who were lost and the survivors of the residential school system. I can only hope that our indigenous citizens will be able to forgive the atrocities committed against them by our ancestors and their respective governments. Together we can make a Canada a better country but only if we can learn from our mistakes in the past and make a much better future for all as we move forward.

To show your support I encourage everyone to wear an orange shirt to raise awareness of the painful reminder which was residential school system here in Canada and to honour the survivors all across the country.

Sincerely,

Patrick
